A long-standingmember of the Guild of Master Craftsmen it has been his luck to be reallychoosy from the countless machines he has come across over the decades. He hasalways kept the ...best for his personal Sewalot Collection featured ontelevision.Hehas decided to sell just a handful of his collection, which I have offered tohelp with,  and as I have a 100% feedback rating with eBay, you can bidwith absolute confidence.   Examplesof comments received from happy customers:

Nowlet's talk about this beautiful Raymond/Weir, as described by Alex.
The Weir 55 shilling dream machine. In the 1860’s James Galloway Weir, a Scotsman with a cannybusiness sense saw the potential for a cheap machine in the Victorian market.Weir imported a beautiful small machine from Canada and called it his own. Heimported machines from Charles Raymond in Canada who had patented his firstmachine by 1857. Of all the very early sewing machines the Raymond/Weir, which had such a short production run, is undoubtedly one of the prettiest, small, compact and beautiful, with soft flowing lines and delicate profile, sheappeals to all collectors even outside the sewing machine world. She would notlook out of place on a ladies dressing table in Victorian London. The machine was also known under various names such asImproved Common Sense sewing machine and Globe sewing machine but the name thatreally stuck in America was The New England sewing machine. In New Zealand themachine was called the Household Fairy sewing machine. This very early Weir is stamped with his London address onthe needle plate SERIAL H4586. She also comes with ORIGINAL instructions andbox with drawer. There are a few knick-knacks as well, no key but spareneedles. This wonderful machine is beyond all normal words, you justhave to see her and stroke her and know that you have a superb piece of earlysewing history in your hands. She has travelled the world and made men rich, this little 55-shilling machine is what collectors dream about.
