~ ANTIQUE SEWING MACHINE ~Description:Presented for your consideration is this nice antique sewing machine. Made out of cast iron with some of the original stenciling still intact. This machine was made circa 1860's to 1870's. The machine's single thread chain stitching was patented by Charles Raymond in 1861. It was used on a variety of machines that are collectively called "New England" type sewing machine. This machine is in good, solid condition with a...ll around wear typical for its age and use. All of the parts move freely and it looks like it would work well. Measures 8 1/2" wide excluding the handle, x 7 3/4" tall x 5" deep.
