TheSinger 12 Fiddlebase or New Family machine first came onto the market around1865. This beauty dates back to 1876, just 11 years after The American Civil War.The only way you can describe this machine is breath taking. This beautiful Fiddlebase model 12 has spare bobbins, needles and loads of extra feet, including darning feet. There is also a copy ofthe instruction book. It is most unusual to find a model 12 in such finecondition, especially such an early one. The machine is complete and guaranteedworking, with sample stitching. The machine also has its lid/case, a superbpiece of craftsmanship in its own right. The machine serial number is 2074480, 373680. The model 12was first manufactured toward the end of the American Civil War so if you areinto Civil War costumes with that authentic touch, this beauty is for you. They say it was this model that made Isaac Singer ahousehold name and fabulously wealthy. Looking at it, it is easy to seewhy.
