Vintage C1930 " Bar - Let Model No. 2 " Portable Typewriter With Case

This "Bar-Let No.2" portable typewriter with its' case dates from around 1930 and was made in Nottingham, England by the Bar-lock Typewriter Company.The typewriter has retained much of its' original red paintwork, however, there are missing areas to the front and the edges, and the space bar also has missing areas of black paint, there are the usual marks, scuffs and scratches that you would associate with a machine of this age.The plated metal work has retained much of its' finish, b...ut there are some surface blemishes in places.The ribbon covers are present.The gold lettering and crest to the paper table have retained a good colour. The lettering to the back and the front does have some breaks.All of the keys are present, the letters, numbers and symbols are still clear and legible, there are no chips or cracks to the keys.The typeheads hit the platen when the keys are depressed, the "Caps" and Fig" keys lift the carriage as they should.The carriage moves along when typing and returns fine.
