This chronometer is a quality rare antique German single fusee marine chronometer of 2 day duration in excellent condition, its certainly all original, the case has its original wooden carry handles and thick bevelled edge glass top. The plaque on the front of the case and the dial both have the matching serial number of 203
The chronometer comes with its single hinged opening box which has its latch lock which is in perfect working order, the opening lid has its thick bevelled edge glass pane through which you can see the chronometer The mahogany case has an absolutely beautiful colour and patina to it with a brass plaque to the front and solid wooden carry handles on either side, the case is in stunning original condition which will be a talking point in any ones home THE DIAL The silvered dial is totally original with the power reserve dial to top which runs down with the movement and tells you how many hours left before winding. The dial also features a 1/2 second beating regulation subs seconds dial to bottom with original hands. The dial is signed to centre with the makers name Gebruder Eppner of Berlin and the serial number impressed 203 THE MOVEMENT The movement is a quality rare German 2 day marine chronometer movement with fusee Barrel and compensated Earnshaw helical spring detent escapement with maintaining power and bi metallic compensated balance. The escapement is in perfect working order and the movement runs smoothly and keeps dead accurate time as you would expect from a chronometer, the clock comes with it original winding key
The movement is in full working order keeping good time as it should as you can see in the video above
MEASUREMENTS The clock measures 7.25 inches high x 8 inches wide x 7.5 Inches deep APPROX DATE Circa 1905 This is a perfect investment, a rare 2 day German chronometer and a beautiful display piece. All our clocks are tested for a minimum of 1 week before listing onto ebay and working condition is clearly stated above
No matter how well antique clocks have been serviced they will need final adjusting and setting into beat after transport and a professional person is advised and may be required in order to do this so please bear this in mind before bidding
If on the rare occasion you receive a clock that has a problem or does not work after initial set up and adjusting by a professional person then we reserve the right for you to return the mechanism for repair by myself
There will be no refunds if the mechanism needs repair. I reserve the right for the mechanism to be returned to me for repair
I offer a 6 months return to base warranty on all my mechanisms (unless stated not working in description)
In case of a problem after a professional has attempted to set the clock up you can return the mechanism back to me for repair
Please do not take the mechanism to a local clock maker/repairer as this will render the warranty void. All repairs needed to the mechanism will be carried out by myself and not by a 3rd party clock maker/repairer unless agreed by myself beforehand. please contact me in the first instance to arrange return of the mechanism for repair by myself
Shipping the mechanism back to me will be at the buyers cost and i will pay to get the mechanism back to you after repair
All repair costs will be met by myself for 6 months after purchase. If a mechanism is faulty after 6 months then i can offer a repair service for a discounted price but this cost will be met by the buyer if after 6 months of purchase
