Shipped with USPS Priority MaiL This is a truly beautiful antique Masonic Commanders dress sword with a provenance to western Pa. around the turn of the last century. The scabbard is decorated with beautiful enameled crosses and other embellishments. The sword just sparkels and shines like gold. The handle appears to be an ivory like substance, [perhaps bone?], nicely decorated w...ith a cross on one side and the commanders initials intertwined on the other. A great pommel capped by an eagle with the chain in its beak.The blade has wonderfully old Rococo etched decorations, including the commanders name, the makers name, latin logos, swords, spears, horses, gloves, full figure of a Knights Templar in a suit of armour, and most importantly to Masons, the signature square and compass.The sword and scabbard are 38" long and in nearly new condition. It dates from the early 1900's and is imaculately preserved. Its original leather case comes with it altough needs sewing.
