CDV of John Brown's log cabin by A. W. Barker. 1871John Brown was a proactive abolitionist who fought aggressively against slavery, on one occasion leading a raid during which five slavery supporters were killed. Brown was later captured during an attack on the federal armory at Harper's Ferry Virginia, where he was intent on arming slaves for his planned slave liberation movement. He was hastily charged with treason, tried, convicted, and hanged.CDV in overall very tidy condition. Sli...ghtly light but fairly strong tonality and crisp, sharp image.
