Description:Please find for offer a great exampleof a sailor's woolwork naïve picture of a ship, set amongst alighthouse to the left and a family with their home on the right. I believe the subject depicts the lady saying goodbye to her son (or husband?) before he boards the ship. There is a miniature rowing boat with two figures in the lower rightcorner – Either a charmingly incorrect perspective or a toy boat?The whole piece has a lot of charm andis housed in a good quality period... maple frame (glazed).Dating to circa 1860.

Condition:Age related wear as expected. There aretwo small areas of loss to the wool in the sea, the smallest is tothe left of the boat and a larger area under the family (see photo #4 & #5) – the background of these areas has beencoloured/touched-in so it's not as noticeable. Overall ok condition.Please examine photos carefully.
