KING Vintage Hand Quilted All Cotton, Feed Sacks HONEYCOMB Quilt, Novelty Prints
Item History & Price
The "piping" runs on the left and right sides, see pics # 2 and 3, and of course across the side by the feet of the bed, see pic # 1. The border between the piping and the edge of the quilt is 14" wide on left and right sides, and 15" wide at the bottom by the feet of the bed.
The measurement of the "top" of the quil...t, the one that would fit exactly the top of a bed larger than the one in the photos, is 81" by 72" across. When the borders are added to those figures, you get 81" + 15" = 96", and 72" + 14" + 14" = 100" across.
The edge by the headboard has no piping and no border: it is just a straight line border with binding.
The bed in the pics is a queen, 80" by 60", and it is a bit overwhelmed by this large quilt. We believe it would fit better a bed size king.
It weighs 5 1/2 lbs un-boxed.
The piecing was done by machine, the quilting by hand. The batting is cotton, as well as the backing.
One of the novelty prints shows scenes of the US Space Program: a space ship, an astronaut, a space station, etc.
Another one has a juvenile print of a boy dresses as Batman, it seems.
There are other novelty fabrics as well, but not many, but the makers used a lot of different prints when putting this together.
Due to bulk and weight, we will not be able to combine shipping of this item with any other.
