Here is a obsolete, no longer used Cook County Sheriff Department of Corrections Commissioners badge. Every collector knows that Cook County Corrections Officers are also Deputy Sheriff's and Peace Officers.... who are allowed to carry weapons off duty and receive 10 weeks of academy training. Over the years the head of the Corrections Department....the title switched between Superintendent or Commissioner..... like as in Commissioner of the NYPD.
This is a rare and obsolete badge f...rom one of the times that the no.1 guy was called Commissioner.
A few years later the title was switched back to Superintendent. Hallmarked Meyer & Wenthe.
Very rare badge... no reserve no return.
