Original Description:
Scottish astronomical regulator clock movement and dial only @ 1830.   This great original movement came with the case, wood stick pendulum, and mercury compensated pendulum that I also have for sale this week under my other auctions.  It's a really beefy, but also finely constructed piece.  The plates are 1/8" thick with 6 beautifully turned pillars.  The movement is held to its original mahogany seatboard with 4 wonderfully finished brackets.  All wheel work ...have 5 spokes and are very finely finished.  The escape wheel attaches to its mounting collet with 3 screws.  Movement is in very good mechanical condition with no damage and looks to be ready to go with some oiling and adjusting, but no guarantees.  The dial is original to the movement with no extra mounting holes.  The dial measures 12 11/16" diameter.  It is beautifully engraved brass with its original silvered finish.   There are 4 filled holes in the dial, one on each of the maker's signature, and one on each side of the town name.  They are not mechanical or functional in nature, and possibly were added to mount covers over the signature and the town name?  Great original hands are extra special and undamaged with great original bluing.  Original mahogany seatboard measures 13 3/4" wide x 5 1/2" deep x 1" thick.   Please see my other auctions this week for other astronomical regulator clock parts related to this movement, including the wooden stick pendulum, mercury compensated pendulum, and weight pulley.  No reserve.  UPS ground shipping in the continental USA will be $60.00
