Made in Germany 1946-48. This Montblanc is a wonderful writer its ...14C F/M Flex nib is a simple JOY to write with. Very creative nib full of personality. The Barrel and Cap are made of Jet Black High Gloss Celluloid. I love the medium Length Orange Amber see through window this barrel has. Not as long as the 30s early 40s pens but still visible even when capped. This length window became the standard long window length on the 1st issue 144 and 146 pens etc. This 134 model also came with short window that could not be seen when capped. I have had both types. The Art Deco Clip is unique to this period ONLY and is only found on 134 and a few 136 just after the war. The Caps 3 rings are also unique to that time and are a pre curser for the now standard Rings Montblanc now have. I especially like the Cap Tops White Star Logo section. It has Montblanc Meisterstuck imprint around the edge. Also these Caps are quite unique compared to earlier 134 in that the cap body is long and the Cap Top (White Star) is short. However if you put them next to an early 134 cap which has shorter body and longer cap to they end up measuring the EXACT same. Pelikan did a similar thing with the 101N in 1937. The Piston Housing and Blind Cap are BHR (Black Hard Rubber) notice how there is no D.R.P etc imprint on the piston housing. Montblanc stopped that imprint after 1945. It is rare to find all BHR as often these are Celluloid by 1945. But just after the war pens were made a few ways using up stock they had etc. The pen has no Cracks Splits or Repairs. It has only a small deep scratch under/next to where the Clip once sat (see photo 3. I moved the clip to opposite side so you can see. When the clip was over it I hadn't noticed before). Other than this the pen is Scratch and Dent free. Once in the hand to the naked eye looks fabulous still. A superb writer full of history. Just serviced with new cork. Works great. Fabulous Pen. The White Star logo Cap Top is also the wonderful Off White Ivory colour type 1st introduced on these early short top long cap models then unto the 1950s etc.. Of course the real star of the show with this pen has to be that beautiful MINT 14C F/M Flex nib. Writes with a Fine to Medium Fine line that has Fine to Extra Fine line side stroke at normal pressure. Suppa smooth with zero paper scratch. Very user friendly. Perfect Iridium Tines tips are good to last several; more lifetimes. Also a very elegant writer perfect for everyday use. This nib also has flexibility that allows for even more line width variation on the down stroke when varying levels of pressure is applied. Can flex from Fine to all the way to Double Broad, The flex is also user friendly in that it is not soft loose or twitchy. Never flexes by itself only on user command. A creative nib for the writing Connoisseur. Grade A+++++++Flex Nib.
