The fine item you are considering is a Rare World War One 1 WW1 Experimental Military Visor Helmet. This amazing antique helmet, which measures approximately 13” long, is one of the exceeding rare World War One experimental visor helmets, wherein they were experimenting with face visors on the helmets much like the visor a medieval knight would have worn. The helmet is in great overall antique condition showing typical signs of age and use (see photos). The interior lining is still i...n the helmet along with some remnants of the original leather strap, but everything shows lots of age and wear as you would expect with something this old. There were also two metal supports originally that ran along the bottom edge of the visor, and now only one of these supports remains. The helmet also sports two cockades, one on each side, with the colors looking to be red, yellow and blue, but with age it’s difficult to be sure what they originally were (see photos).
