Up for sale is a classic, genuine Montblancfountain pen MONTBLANC No. 24 Fountain penGreen Resin & GoldFilled Trimc. 1959-1960s DescriptionThis Montblanc No. 24 Pen dates tolate1950s/early 1960s and the design of the 2x line was the hallmark ofMontblanc engineering at that time. The 2x line proved sopopular that it was re-launched in 1990s as GENERATION line and currently- as CRUISE collection which are the modern incarnation of thesevintage... models.Perhaps the coolest thing about the 2x line istheir timeless, strikingly modern appearance and excellent engineering. The penhas a slip-on cap with a mechanism based on clutch/ring and it is extremelycool - when the pen is capped, it makes no sound and the mechanism holds thecap securely in place. Also, the barrel has a blue, transparent ink-viewsection that shows when to refill. This Montblanc design inspired many big namessuch to produce Montblanc 2x inspired pens in 1970s: Watermanlaunched the Concord, Namiki - some Pilot Custom models and Kaweco alsomade a few pens that bear a striking resemblance to some 60s Montblanc pens. This model was produced in Black, Burgundy, Greyand Green (the British RacingGreen colour). The colour versions are very uncommon, since black wasthe most popular and not many colour variants were made. ImprintsThe lower cap ring is stamped:MONTBLANC - No. 24 The cap top of the pen and its fillerknob have the white inlaid Montblanc snowflake logo.Item conditionVery good, New Old Stock (NOS) condition but mayhave been dipped or inked. Otherwise no cracks, no scratches and only slight signsof storage - please see photos; the pen fills and writes as it should. Nb. I dipped the nib in ink to check nib grade and forgot to clean it for photos - this will be cleaned up before shipping.This isa genuine Montblanc article (I don't collect fake pens) but sadly Ihaven't got the box or papers that came with them.Filling systemThe pen uses a piston filler. Just unscrew thepiston knob, dip the nib in ink bottle, screw the piston back down, wipe thepoint with soft tissue and the pen's ready to write.NibThe pen has a 14k solid gold Fine/Medium firm nibthat is a very nice, smooth writer.
