This is a good example of a ~17th century Lantaka of probably Dutch or Portugese manufacture based on the casting style which is similar to the European cannons of the time.
Approximately 45 inches long, 4 1/2 inches across at the breech and muzzle.with a 1 1/4 inch bore. 85 pounds.
Cast bronze with intricate brass inlays along the barrel.
Sin...gle piece, cast in place swivel.
Socket at the breech for a pole to assist with maneuvering.
One of the lugs that would hold a cap over the touch hole is broken off.
Minimal corrosion at the muzzle and breach areas.
Comes with a carved wooden display stand. Stand has some chips in the corners.
Selling as I no longer have a use for it. I purchased when doing historical re-enactments to illustrate the proportions of European cannons in the 15th and 16th centuries.
