AntiqueCased Silver Sewing Set French* Circa 1890s The matchingsewingtools in this little French necessaire are embossed with scrolls, flowers and acanthus leaves. They are nestled intothe fitted velvet and silk interior of an oval leather covered case. Thetools includes a silverneedlecase, stiletto, bodkin, thimbleand scissors. The silver tools are stampedwith the boar's head French silverhallmarks for800/1000 pure silver. Thescissorshave tight s...teel blades with intact points and they cut beautifully tothe tips. They are 3 7/8" long. Thethimbleis in like new condition with no damage and a gilded interior. It'sabout an American size 8-9 (15.3 mm diameter opening) but it narrowsand would fit a smaller finger.The stiletto, bodkin and needle case arealso in excellent condition with no dents or damage. Thegold embossed leather case is in greatcondition, insideand out and has a stronghinge. Thelinings are original and itcloses well with a push buttonclasp. It measures 5"long by 3 1/8" wide. I think everything is original to this set and Idon't think it's ever been used.
