This is a wonderful early 19th century Martin type drum microscope by Crichton, London. Made of lacquered brass and signed Crichton, 112 Leadenhall St., London. Focusing is by adjusting the body tube.
Unit accessories include objective lenses numbered 1 through 6, bone slides labeled 1 through 6, specimen holder, condenser lense (for lighting opaque objects), tweezers, brass talc box, opaque disk (white/black)..., magnifier, live box (circular), round specimen holder, small pick.
The concave mirror has a little foxing, but otherwise in good condition, overall brass is in very good condition. Box has a slight separation on lid. Microscope is 9 3/4" high on lowest position. Box measures approximately 10 1/2" x 5 1/4" x 3 1/4". Has lock, but no key.
