A stunning smaller sized plaque like Icon, likely Polish. The icon features a hand painted Madonna and child in excellent state of preservation. The back is dated 1863 where we also see an engraved eagle with a crown (The official Polish Coat of arms) before a cross The hand engraved inscription here reads (something approximating) OJCYZNE WOLNOSC RACZ NAM WROCIC PANIE The icon isn’t tested but appears to be silver? Certainly no brassing or rubbing wear that might suggest silver pla...te? Either way the piece isn’t tested, nor marked as silver so is sold as is. Excellent vintage condition- the icon is approx 10cm x 8.5cm (plus suspension loop) Weight is 78 Grams approx.We have listed several other collectibles including jewellery, silver, decorative art and collectables.
