Up for sale is an antique 1860's Civil War era surgeon's amputation kit made by Goulding & Co. New York. The kit features a 14" overall length amputation saw (marked) along with a pick (marked), serrated knife (marked), circular/half moon scalpel (unmarked), file & tweezers (both marked), two hole saw type devices that appear to be solid brass (unmarked) one is missing the screw that goes in the top, the drainage device, needle, and brush are all unmarked. All pieces are in exc...ellent condition when considering their age. Box is believed to be solid mahogany trimmed in brass which is in absolute beautiful condition on the exterior. Unfortunately the interior inserts for the tools are mostly destroyed and will need to be rebuilt. I was unable to locate the key that goes to the box, unfortunately. Box measures 15"x6"x3".
