Superb in style and design with amazing hand carved decorations. The overall “frame” of the piece features a scalloped decoration on the top series with gracefully rounded sides.The wooden body of the rack was coated at some point in its life with great "Butternut" shade of paint. The center of the piece retains five wrought iron sharply pointed blacksmith made hooks.
The wooden body of the piece has two holes born into it were it would have been hung off wrought iron nails or wooden pegs, these are two at either end.
There area some linear lines of age to the piece throughout giving forth a great primitive look from age and time. All aspects of condition are pointed out to convey the wonderful rich life and luster this splendid piece of folk art has. It truly a great piece. Measures a more diminuative 16” in length, the board being 4 1/4” wide itself, 1/2" thick and each wrought iron hook stands out from the board about 1 1/4” in length.
The rack would be a perfect accent to any country home, being a great way to hang any dried herbs or wrought iron and wooden utensils!
