WWII or Older US Navy 6 or 7-Star Commissioning or Homeward Bound Pennant. The pennant measures 15 feet long and the wide end of the blue measures 13 1/4 inches. The flag is made up of several pieces of red and white wool material but the blue is one piece. The stars appear to be painted on and there are six on one side and seven on the other. The seventh one is not as heavily painted as the others. A wooden dowel bar is lashed to the hoisting end for support along with two... galvanized grommets.I am not sure the age of this pennant but it has age. The crudeness of the stars leads me to say that it may be a homeward bound pennant made aboard its ship. The length of these pennants had to do with their time at sea.I bought this at a local auction in PA.Please ask any questions you may have.
