A delightful antique writers compendium, Stationery Box. This fine piece opens at top to reveal compartments for letters, papers, envelopes etc etc. The front lifts and drops into a slotted cavity to reveal a beautiful display of inkwells each labelled COPYING RED and BLACK. I can’t be sure which of the drop in porcelain ‘school desk’ style inkwells are original whilst one is clearly a replacement. These are easy to obtain so a better match could be found for the other two more ...appropriate examples. At front an original pressed glass pen tray slots perfectly into its recess. This glass tray does have a sliver like chip from one corner as shown.Otherwise and as you plainly can see- this piece presents in fabulous condition.The wooden case itself is in beautiful condition, it stands 26cm, width 30.5cm and depth 23.5cm, weight 2.35 Kilos.We have listed several other pieces jewellery, silver, decorative art and collectables.
