INCREDIBLE 19C VICTORIAN BLACK FOREST GERMANY CARVED WALNUT BEARS BOOKENDS RACKAMAZNG ESTATE TREASURE AUCTION INCLUDNG FINE ASIAN ARTS Hello, thank you for having a look at our auctions! Up for auction with no reserve is an incredible 19th Century Antique Black Forest German Carved Wood Bears Figural Book Stand Rack or Bookends. This is one of a few very fine examples of German Black Forest Carvings we have listed this week, be sure to check our other auctions and the others are just as fabulous !
This Auction is for an incredible expanding Book Stand or Rack featuring the most wonderful Wrestling Bears. The Bears are extremely finely carved throughout and best of all they are wearing Short Pants ! The Carving is some of the finest I have seen and much finer than my photos show. As you can see the Book Rack expands and will hold a number of books very nicely. The Book Rack is in excellent condition with minor signs of use consistent with age but no damage or repairs. The Rack is also a nice size for modern use or display measuring 19-3/4 inches long when closed or 29-1/2 inches wide when open and the Figures measure approx 8 inches tall by 5-1/2 inches wide. I think this is an exceptional piece and doubt you will see another like it up for auction any time soon, especially selling without reserve !
