Exchanged in places with. 359-362. "Fox" spots. On the title page is an autograph addressed to a poet, writer, translator, publisher: “Ivan Alekseevich Belousov from author A. Chekhov 87 27 / IX”.A close friend of Belousov, writer Ni...kolai Dmitrievich Teleshov recalled that the family of Belousov tailors “never had a single book, which was considered more than redundant, and writing them was extremely reprehensible and indecent”. Among his clients were some writers, including A.P. Chekhov. Secretly from the family, Ivan Alekseevich Belousov wrote poems and published them in periodicals under pseudonyms. Anton Pavlovich, in his own words, was cordial with Belousov and often sent him his new books. The famous bibliophile AL Finkelstein recalled: "... I also have the second book, The Motley Tales." It can be said that after the publication of this book, A. Chekhonte turned into a famous writer A.P. Chekhov. Therefore, despite the circulation of 2000 copies, which is quite large for that time, the book is almost never found in good form. For several decades I’ve been searching for two times ... ”Chekhov himself wrote to Grigorovich: “I like my book very much. This is a vinaigrette, a disorderly mob of student works, plucked by censorship and editors of comic publications. ” Anyway, “Motley Stories” became the most complete collection: 77 works were published in the book. The publication was wildly popular, read out and brought the writer nationwide fame.
