 S  M  A  R  T  Y 1968 classic pinball machine made by Williams in excellent playing condition.  SMARTY is a two-flipper electromagnetic game, with the classic smaller style flippers. The object of the game is to hit various targets and rollovers to light up letters in a grid on the playfield. The grid is a 4×4 matrix of letters, spelled out in four letter words (NOT the kind of 4-letter words you yell when the ball drains). As you complete... each word, certain bonuses are activated which either give you more points, or scores an “extra ball.” This pinball machine adds balls. It was built in an era where pinball machines were considered gambling devices in some jurisdictions. There is a version of this game which does score freeplays called “Ding Dong, ” completely identical to Smarty except for the name. SMARTY is the more desirable version. Game-play is pure fun for all ages with a nostalgic feel. The backglass is colorful and whimsical not a lot of flaking. The playfield’s colors are surprisingly vivid for a 50+ year old machine but there is wear from years of joyful play. All new rubbers. Bulbs all working. Nice vintage chime sounds. Ready to move SMARTY to a new home, man-cave, lounge, pub, playroom, den, family room or anywhere a classic pinball machine (that's over 50 years old but still plays great) should have a home! You could go online and see videos of it being played, but you won't often see it being sold because owners love this pinball machine. Located in Orange, CT.
