ITEM: You are bidding on a vintage and original 1930s pin-up print from the Thomas D. Murphy Calendar Company of Red Oak, Iowa; "The Birthplace of Art Calendars" printed on their signature textured pebble stock paper. A lovely image featuring a winsome summertime belle titled "In The Good Old Summertime" by Jules Erbit.
Measures just under 10" x 14".
For those of you keeping track we acquired a storeroom full of these original archived Thomas D. Murphy Calendar Company inventory calendar prints (mostly their pin-up images) several years ago, the prints are fantastic and period old original sample lithographs that were kept in flat files in the Iowa warehouse and acquired directly from their vaults. The print quality is spectacular and the print quantities were minimal making this quite rare and lovely and desirable. The Thomas D Murphy company was renowned for its revolutionary and high end printmaking processes and its low pulp content textured paper, which has aged incredibly well, and as such keeps this print looking incredibly vibrant and striking.
CONDITION: Fine condition with a small line of soiling in the upper left.
