The clock features a simple architectural design with elaborate ornate bronze mounts which have a superb display look to it. The case has a beautiful original age patina to the slate with a sheen that can only be produced over time, there is a red marble to the top and base which have a beautiful colouring and contrast beautifully against the rest of the case to make it reall stand outThe Clock Measures - 14.75 inches high x 8.75 inches wide x 5.5 inches deepDialThe clock has a 4 inch diameter matching slate & red marble dial which has gilded engraved roman numerals. The dial has its original hands and to the centre it has a red marble panel, the dial is protected by the glazed brass bezelMovementThe movement is a high quality French 8 day bell striking movement which strikes on the half past and on the hours, the movement is in full working order keeping time with its french pendulum and comes with a winding key, the movement is unsigned but would date to circa 1870Condition ReportThis clock is in excellent condition and in full working order, please have a good look over the many Pictures I have provided which can help with any further item description. This is a fantastic antique French slate mantel clock which has a black slate with red marble case that is in excellent condition for age a real gem.
