Early vintage Mark Matthews ten (10) cane filigrana contemporary art glass sphere. These special masterworks showcase Mark's incredible talent like few of his other pieces. This was the very first marble I ever bought of Mark's - I had seen and admired his spheres for years at the annual Winterfair in Columbus before ever committing (oh, to go back, right?) This one had such an unusual and edgy color combination I was drawn to it immediately. It does have two small (about 1.25mm ea.) p...atches of rough glass (visible in pics #9 and 10 midway up on the marble) original to the marble that look like tiny pinpricks, most likely from incomplete final surface finishing. No reserve.

I use a digital camera set at a very high macro focus that magnifies even the slightest imperfection (and speck of dust, sorry, ) so the item will almost always look better in hand than in my photos.
