Cobb, all part of the legendary Group Theater. Letter is written to Edward B. Marks, the groundbreaking music publisher. Weill is asking Marks about a "proposition, " obviously a publishing deal for "Johnny Johnson." Multiple folds o/w EX with beautiful NM-MT signature. Comes certified by PSA.
NEW YORK PUBLIC LIBRARY COLLECTION
Not everything is from the New York Public Library, however, many of the key pieces are. This collection was acquired froman old time New Yorker, who was a denizen of the theatre, and an avid collector throughout his lifetime. He worked in the theatre and had tremendous access to wonderful things. He attended the New York Public Library sales during the golden age of the 1960s, when they were de- acquisitioning from their rich theatre archive. We actually saw some of the prices they charged including Rudolph Valentino original stills for 25 cents each!
