Early production/very low limited edition #111 of 2000, these exquisite steel helms represented some of the best work of United Cutlery's Lord of the Rings armor prop replicas--ultimately the quality appears to have been too costly to produce and UC abruptly suspended further development and production of the LOTR line (sadly with my pre-order for Frodo's Mithril shirt left hanging). Peter Jackson and his team so brilliantly captured a nearly infinite array of details that had to be...just right...as they were fixed in the mind's eye of generations of fans who would know if/when they ever saw them if those details fit.
The moment I saw Isildur's helmet on screen, it was just right--that was Isildur. Having one of these helmets in hand, feeling real solidity, weight and the coolness of forged steel, the strength of the leather, putting it on your head no less, will remain something special for any fan.
As shown, the numbered plaque of authenticity is fixed within the helmet. Please note, this auction is for the helmet and stand only. I do not have the original shipping box. I also have not to date found the parchment descriptive COA originally supplied with helmet (additional to the metal plaque affixed within), apparently misplaced during a move. In the even it were to turn up, I will forward it to the winner, but for now best to assume it is not available.
