Up for auction is this beautiful blue and white spongeware pitcher in the Wild Rose pattern and PITTSBURGH, PA advertising. RARE, RARE, RARE find and probably a once in a life time chance to buy one that is in absolute MINT CONDITION. Mold detail is strong and it has DARK cobalt blue color. The pitcher measures approx. 9" high x 5-3/4" dia. at the base, and is very heavy. NOTE: Photos were taken outdoors.CONDITION: It is MINT condition with absolutely no chips, flakes,... cracks, hairline cracks, or repairs! It would be nearly impossible to upgrade. It has the usual manufacturing characteristics found on OLD salt glaze stoneware (i.e., pits, pops, glaze skips, rubs, runs, bubbles, glaze separations, staining, crazing, and wrinkles & lines in glaze).
