STUNNING Lyman Byxbe Hand-Tinted, titled & signed photograph " (1 of 2 listed). This is an absolutely beautiful piece of art in the style of one of the original hand-tint photographers of the 20th century, Fred Payne Clatworthy. Mr. Clatworthy was a Colorado resident and it is highly likely that, as they were in Estes Park at the same time (relatively small with just a few hundred permanent residents at that time), Mr. Byxbe and Mr. Clatworthy knew each other. (I have several large... hand-tinted photographs from Mr. Clatworthy in my collection.)
This photo is extremely colorful and large, measuring 19" x 16" framed. It is SIGNED AND TITLED BY BYXBE. It is titled "Hallett's Peak from The Dream Lake Trail" and is one of two matching framed/matted photographs to be listed. The frame seems to be original but the backing (and perhaps the blue matting) is newer. It has a label from a framing shop but does not list and address.
