This drawing descended in the Peter and Caroline Meugens family of the Netherlands who lived in England than came to New England in the early 19th century. Please see the large Meugens family portrait painting we are also offering at this time.There is a Geo. F Of New York framing label remnant accompanying the framing with Geo. F Of inscribed on the matting. The label and matting is also inscribed Lownes and Mrs. Lownes, we assume that to be a descendant in the Meugens family. Unsigned, European Style numbering 116 verso, possibly identifiable as an artists estate inventory number. No visible watermark symbols. Offered with no reserve! Signature: Unsigned, European Style numbering 116 verso, possibly identifiable as an artists estate inventory number.
Circa Date: Circa 1600-1900, probably 1650-1850
Condition of piece: No creases or tears, some waves in the stiff paper, foxing, rear corner mounting residues, no glass in frame, frame displays some wear and drawing and matting need to be hammered back in to frame properly, all sheets, mats etc not adhered to each other
Sheet Size: 7 x 7 inches
Frame Size: 15 ¾ X 15 ¾ inches
Estimated size of packaging: 24x18x5, 18 lbs, this weight is dimensional
