1653:  FINE EXAMPLE OF MEDIEVAL MANUSCRIPT BINDER'S WASTE
Geier, M.   Proverbia regum sapientissimi Salomonis, cum cura enucleata. Lipsiaw, ., 1653.  Small Thick  4to.,  7.5 x 6 inches.   Vellum in poor condition, hinges separating, text browned throughout.   The main attraction of this book is the peeling vellum over the spine,... which exposes the guts and construction of the book and is an excellent example of the use of medieval manuscripts as printers waste.   Two fragments can clearly be seen (likely 14th century and earlier), one in a small medieval and one in a particular interesting larger medieval hand.  May be returned for any reason.
