Original Description:
A fine and rare Rockingham leaf shaped basket, c. 1835 - 1841.  Possibly made to commemorate the Coronation of Queen Victoria. Exceptionally well painted in the manner of Thomas Brentnall, to the centre with a ‘V’, formed in flowers, within a border of further flowers. The rim encrusted with flowering plants, issuing from a double twig entwined gilt handle - unusually in perfect condition.Could this basket have been made to commemorate the Coronation of Queen Victoria ? P...uce printed factory mark to the base.Height - 10.7 cm, 4 1/4”.Length - 23 cm, 9 1/8”.Width - 16 cm, 6 3/8”.Condition -  Crack to the base. Lacking one leaf. Typical minor chips to the flowers. Please see images for detail. NO restoration.  Unusually, the handle is perfect.
