PIRATES!!! 1924 Pitcairn Island Postage Stamp (cachet) Cover With Cryptic Message that reads "Pa's unfinished letter to you. His dear hands are motionless in death". Fully researched and documented by Eric Phillips PhD History Chicago University. Comes with Eric's full report and Emily McCoy's family tree. Emily McCoy is a descendant of Fletcher Christian and no less than five of the original mutineers. Mutineers that orchestrated the most famous story of piracy the world has ever know...n when they over took the H.M.S. BOUNTY from the British Navy and burnt it off of Pitcairn Island's shores; "Mutiny On The Bounty". The cryptic message on the back references the death of James Russell McCoy who died of influenza in 1924. He was the Chief Magistrate and President of Pitcairn Island's Council throughout the later half of the 1800s. A man that brought control and leadership back to the island after it was lost due to alcoholism. James Russell would write about the events taking place on Pitcairn to his daughter Emily on a regular basis. This cover is latent with rich history, with references to world famous people, ties to world famous events and it's cryptic message written and sent from a famous Pirate island there is no way to put a price on it. The fact James Russell died before he could finish a letter to his daughter is philatelic history at its best. There is nothing to compare it to. For this reason I have decided to auction it here on Ebay. Happy bidding. Cover and accompanying documents will be shipped free shipping usps priority mail.
