for a detailed view.This is a leaf of incunabula from the Postilla Super Psalterium, Psalm 44 by the noted Franciscan theologian Nicholaus de Lyra.who was a doctor at the Sorbonne by 1309 and ten years later was appointed the head of all Franciscans in France. He remains to this day among the foremost exegetes of all times. The " POSTILLS" of de Lyra are brief commentaries, which he carried through the whole bible. The Quarto size leaf measures 200 x 135 mm. ...and contains 7-lines of text surrounded by 39-lines of commentary. The roman typeface (4 & 5) is printed single column in Latin. The verso 3-lines of text with the same amount of commentary. It was printed on November 5, 1483 by Ulrich Gering’s second press in Paris. (Hain 10378, Proctor 7868) This leaf contains minor foxing at the edges.
