Original Description:
Offered from an estate collection is this rare and beautifully-carved circa 1890's antique boar's tusk corkscrew with sterling silver end cap in very good vintage condition. This is a quite rare piece, with a lovely woman carved semi-nude into the tusk. In researching online, I am so far unable to find another carved with a nude image from this era. The tusk has a warm patina and mild surface wear,  nickel plated brass bamboo type shank, Walker patent bell. Bell and worm... show mild tarnish. Please see photos for full description. The grape-themed silver end mount is marked STERLING. The tusk measures 7" long and the corkscrew measuring 5 3/4" from outside of tusk to bottom of the worm. Just a gorgeous piece to add to your antique corkscrew collection. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
