Very rare NFL ticket stub from the Chicago Bears 1934/1935 post season tour, against the Pacific Coast All-Stars at Gilmore Stadium in Los Angeles on January 20th 1935.
Following an undefeated season (5-0-1 in exhibition games and 13-0 in the regular season), the Bears fell victims to the New York Giants in the NFL Championship Game at the frozen Polo Grounds in New York. During the course of the first half, the Giants "acquired" a number of pairs of basketball sneakers from nea...rby Manhattan College and started the second half with nine of their players finding substantially more grip on the frozen field. Some Bears players resulted to just playing in their socks in an attempt to get some traction, but to no avail, as the Giants came back to win 30-13.
After the loss in the "Sneakers Game", the Bears played a couple of exhibitions in the east and south, notching wins over the Philadelphia Eagles, Brooklyn Dodgers and Memphis Tigers. In the new year, they embarked on a trip to the west coast and played the final three games of HB Harold "Red" Grange's career at the Gilmore Stadium in Hollywood.
