Up for auction is a rare incunabula leaf from the German edition of Hartmann Schedel's Nuremberg Chronicle, printed by Anton Koberger in Nuremberg, Germany, in December of 1493. This is page CCIII of the Chronicle, and it contains several woodcuts hand-colored around the time of publication, including a couple moons and a depiction of the unusual "sun dog" phenomenon. Despite some minor staining, this attractive Chronicle leaf is in very good condition. It measures a...pprox. 15 3/4 x 11 inches. There is a watermark present at the center when held up to light...
