Antique Tiffany & Co Silverplate Harvard Student Oil Lamp w/Globe! SCARCE!This auction is for one super unique and cool antique item. This pieceis designed out of silverplate and the lamp itself weighs 12 pounds. Theheight of this piece is 20” tall. The oil lamp can be raised and lowered byturning one of the knobs. The oil lamp section also spins around ifyou push it. If you wanted the lampsection to be closer to you, you would not need to pick up the lamp. You wouldjust pu...sh that section to turn it. The base has a diameter of 6”. The “oil lamp”section measures 8 ¾” 4 ½” 5”. This comes with a dark yellow knobbed craftedglass globe. The globe has a height of 5 ½” and a diameter of 7 ½”. The glassis in excellent condition. You can see the original seams on the glass and afew interior bubbles. The collar that holds the burner is marked Patent Appliedfor Aug 16 1870 March 30 1871 Jan 18 1871 along with Sept 5 1871. That collarhas some damage as you can see from the photo. The burner is marked BannerWaterbury Conn. I am not sure if the burner is original to this lamp or not andthere is no wick. The lamp chimney is in good condition, I don’t know if thatis original. The base is marked Tiffany & Co. I have seen a handful ofthese and they are the Wild and Wessel lamps. Those lamps are marked W&W onthe bottom. This does not have any markings on the bottom. I don’t see anydings or dents. There is a bit of minor silverplate wear on the base butnothing really significant. This would be a great addition to a collection.PLEASE NOTE I WILL SHIP THE GLASS GLOBES IN A SEPARATE BOX due to the weight ofthis lamp. The glass globes are fragile and I don’t want to see anything happento them considering the lamp is 12 pounds on its own.
