The Camera was tested with an outdated film cart. It functions perfectly including the light meter and exposure system. Today I'm listing my late Dad's Paillard Bolex H8 RX 8mm Movie Camera. New Old Stock. He purchased this camera in approx 1964 but never got the chance to put a reel of film through it. Still with the original cardboard box, carry case, swing tags and accessories just as the day it was made 55 years ago. The price is still on the tag, 297 pounds 10 shillings . That would have been a King's ransom back in the day. I'm positive opportunities like this don't come along every day and it could very we...ll be the only unused 55 year old model in existence. My Dad passed away many years ago and I'm sure he would want it to go to someone passionate about Swiss made movie cameras. Camera seems to power on when batteries are installed and focusses well. F stop setting responds to changes in light levels. Shutter clicks and motor is heard when actuated. This was donated to a non-profit organization. Film chamber and battery compartments are clean. Lens has a few light smudges and has not been cleaned.

It has a beautiful set of 3 Elgeet manufactured lenses with matching filter adapters. This is a gorgeous D8L model and is near "mint condition" and ready to shoot film, with all controls working.This camera shoots single-frame for animation, and variable speed from 12 to 64 frames per second... (FPS). Bolex D8L cameras use 16mm wide film which is run 25 feet in one direction filming on one side of the 16mm film creating an 8mm wide image. Then the film is removed and the film "flipped" upside down to run another 25 feet filming on the other side of the film stock. The film is processed then slit down the middle and ends cemented together to make 50 feet of processed footage which will run for about 3 minutes at 16-18 FPS. Film used in this style is called "Double run" 8mm. Film and processing are still available. Bolex cameras use a wound spring motor to power the film transport mechanism and thus do not require any batteries. You can take them anywhere. Cameras like these are typically used for music videos, independent film production, and anywhere a small, high-quality film camera is required.After developing, the film can be scanned and converted to any video format for editing. The only issue I found was the T and W buttons did not operate, meaning the zoom was only manual. The "leather" is peeling and chipped a little along the top, which is both an easy fix and purely cosmetic. Canon AUTO ZOOM 1218 Super 8 8mm Video Vintage. This camera looks astonishing for its age. The outside of the case also has very little wear. It looks as if the camera itself was used a few times and was stored in its case completely unharmed by the elements. This is the version that has the 24fps option for film speed, which apparently is a rare model.Comes with all of the accessories shown in the photos. The film appears to be used, although I am not certain. This camera is being sold "As-Is" ...with no returns and has been tested only to the point that the battery indicator comes on, and the zoom function works properly. There is some corrosion in the battery compartment but overall the condition i would say is excellent. The batteries needed to be jiggled a bit in order to make a connection and function, most likely due to the corrosion.Please carefully inspect photos to appreciate the condition of this camera.
