My 96 year old aunt died recently and I found the above items in her estate. Nobody in our family smoked, so the cigarettes were never used although the cellophane wrapper on the outer carton was removed. As far as I cant tell the lighter. was never used either. I understand that the advertising slogan "Its What's Up Front that Matters" was used around 1965 and I assume the lighter was from the same era or earlier as my grandfather who died in 1963 was superintendent of scales for the ...Illinois Central and the fact that the lighter makes reference "automatic weighers" makes me think that he picked this up at a convention which would put it earlier in the 60s. Anyway, please ask for more pictures is you need to see something. I will not accept returns. I am trying to reclaim my house from the estate stuff. On Jul-09-19 at 19:47:42 PDT, seller added the following information:I just found and have added pictures of the Zippo brochure I found in the lid of the box. After doing a little more research, i also believe that this lighter is older than 1965. It is more likely from the 40's based on the patent number and design on the bottom of the lighter. That said, I am no expert, so look closely for yourself. On Jul-10-19 at 14:22:58 PDT, seller added the following information:I was asked for a picture of the hinge, so I have added that. I believe that it is called 3 barrel and helps to pinpoint the age.On Jul-12-19 at 14:37:16 PDT, seller added the following information:I was asked about the condition of the corners of the box. I took pictures of each corner, but ebay would only let me add one more picture, so I added a picture of the corner in the worst condition. The upper left corner appears to be cracked, possibly all the way through for half to 3/4 of its length. It is not bent and I don't intend to bend to to determine for sure whether the crack is all the way through or not. The lower left and upper right are missing some red color on the upper and lower points, but there are no cracks. The lower right corner is missing some red color on the upper point only, again, no cracks. If you want to see the pictures, please send me a message since ebay will not support these additional pictures. On Jul-15-19 at 07:14:33 PDT, seller added the following information:I was just asked for pictures of the chimney on this lighter (I hope that is the correct term). Unfortunately, ebay will not let me post any more pictures, so if anybody else wants to see these, please message me. There appear to be 8 holes per side, so I think this is called a 16 hole chimney. (My, I am getting way more educated on Zippo lighters than I had any intention of getting).
