I've been collecting / buying / selling "Baby Boom" era toys for 35 years, and have never seen another example of THIS item. This is a lightweight tin, or aluminum, flying disc or saucer. It comes inside the original box. The top reads: "FALCON, Inc - FLYING SAUCER...A FLYING MODEL...FALCON, INC. CONSTANTINE, MICH." (Constantine Michigan is a small town of about 2, 000. The High School mascot is the Falcon.) The box is marked: "INSTRUCTIONS INSIDE", but the i...nstructions are MISSING. I "THINK" this is an early example of a "Frisbee-style" flying disc. There is no date on the box or toy, so I'm not sure if this came BEFORE or AFTER the success of the Frisbee. It is easy to see why this toy never took off. (No pun intended.) It is VERY lightweight and FLIMSY. (Probably why there are so few left in existence!) It seems like it would easily be bent out of shape. Also, while the edges of the round disc are rolled, and are smooth, the edges of the interior propeller blades are SHARP. The bottom edge of the disc measures 7 & 1/2 inches wide. The top tapers inward and is just over 6 inches wide. The TOY is in VERY GOOD to EXCELLENT condition, with a few small "dings." The BOX is POOR to FAIR. Two corners have clear tape repair. The other 2 corners are split at the seam and have not been repaired. The box also has some scuffs, moisture marks, and small tears. Box and toy still display very nicely, and are guaranteed to be old & original - made in the late 1950's or early 1960's - or your money back. I am here to help you with any questions!!!
