HasbroTransformers prerub Generation 1 Decepticons leader, Megatron, in a very nonpolitically correct form of a Walther P-38 pistol. This toy was sometimesbanned or deemed illegal due to being a realistic looking toy gun without theorange barrel tip to indicate not a real firearm. Takara mfg. erapackage dated 1984.Found at anestate sale. Appears to have been purchased as a gift and forgotten (originalprice sticker removed. Looks like it might have been a K-B toy store sticker). Estates...ale mgr. said it was found on a closet shelf and no other toys were present atthe sale. Sold as never opened but original tape on both ends of box had driedup with age and box ends had separated. As both pieces of tape dried up and/ or fell offbox I couldn’t sell this Megatron as “Sealed”. One pieceof tape fell off box while examining item at the estate sale. It was saved andis included in sale. See picture. This seller therefore decided to examinecontents (with gloves on). Contents have never been removed or touched. Allpieces of action figure evidence having never been removed from Styrofoaminsert. They are snugly held by Styrofoam and so were not touched or removed totest for looseness in toy assembly. All pieces show no sign of having been touched;no markings of any kind. All chrome looks perfect. Any hint of coloration tochrome in pictures is product of reflection of environment while photographing.The chrome is correct coloration and shows no sign of aging. Zoom in on pictures to see how clean anduntouched all pieces appear. All paperinserts, catalog, instruction sheet, UNUSED sticker sheet, red film (tech specsdecoder) included. Those were only handled with gloves on for pictures. On a “C” scaleevaluation it is my belief this figure would rate a C10, hence Mintdesignation. This Megatron figure appears to have NEVER been touched, removedfrom package, or assembled. Packagedetails:Edge/ cornerwear light Denting: verylightCreasing: lightincluding flap creasePlease seenumerous pictures of packaging. Just light shelf wear. Surface is free of anyblemishes except one light scuff mark on clear plastic window. There is no internalseparation of that piece from the box as detailed in one picture. There are nosigns of handling, no fingerprints or markings of any kind. Styrofoam insert isas white as new. The exterior shows no fading or exposure to light of any sort.On a “C” scaleevaluation it is my belief this box would rate C9 to C9.5 or a near mintdesignation.
