I'm pleased to offer this very rare locality Smithsonite with Baryte specimen from the Pinargozu mine, Kozan, Adana Province, Turkey. The specimen measures 2.45 x 1.54 x 1.39 inches or 6.23 x 3.91 x 3.53cm and is in very good condition. This piece shows colorless botyroidal smithsonite atop coarse baryte cleavages. This comes with a previous label (not pictured). The Pinargozu mine is not yet listed on mindat.org--the world's most comprehensive mineralogical website. I will add a photo of this ...piece and will add the locality to the database in the next day or two. The Pinargozu mine is an active zinc mine with minor lead and silver mineralization. An excellent overview of the mine can be found by a Google search for "Pinargozu zinc mine" that will lead you to the Pasinex Resources Ltd corporate site with much information about this mine and their other projects. The specimen shows a small depression in the rock covered with satiny botryoidal smithsonite. This lay atop coarse white baryte cleavages. This should be considered a very rare locality specimen and would make an excellent addition to any worldwide smithsonite suite Please check my feedback and my other items. All specimens are carefully wrapped, come with complete and accurate labels and are quickly shipped. As always, your complete satisfaction is unconditionally guaranteed and I even offer FREE return shipping on any item that fails to satisfy for any reason---you can't go wrong. I'm reminded of the firm pledge printed on the old Foote Mineral Company mineral catalogs from more than a century ago, "Quality of specimens is assured as we permit return of specimens at our expense." I'm pleased to offer this rare locality Canfieldite with Galena and Stannite in Quartz from the Dean mine, near Battle Mountain, Lander County, Nevada. The specimen measures 1.19 x 1.06 x .67 inches or 3.01 x 2.70 x 1.71cm and was collected and identified by Bart Cannon (cannonite) of Seattle, Washington. I've visited Bart several times and always come home with very many oddball specimens and unique ore specimens. I picked up a few of the richest examples of this material that he had left. The... specimen shows galena cleavages intergrown with canfieldite and stannite in quartz. Bart has the equipment to do in house analysis and I had never had such specimens so picked out a few to offer online and at shows. I'm very much looking forward to my next visit to Seattle---will probably have to wait until next year Canfieldite is a silver tin sulfide mineral and is present as the massive steel grey material (not to be confused with the galena cleavages) and the stannite may have been identified in thin section, etc. Please check my feedback and my other items. All specimens are carefully wrapped, come with complete and accurate labels and are quickly shipped. As always, your complete satisfaction is unconditionally guaranteed and I even offer FREE return shipping on any item that fails to satisfy for any reason---you can't go wrong. I'm pleased to offer this rare locality specimen of Turquoise with Riebeckite from the Llanada copper mine, Llanada, San Benito County, California. The specimens measure 1.81 x 1.22 x .84 inches or 4.59 x 3.09 x 2.13cm (1066) and 1.52 x .77 x .54 inches or 3.85 x 1.97 x 1.36cm (1065) and is from the David W. Reynolds collection of San Jose, California. His collection catalog indicates that he collected these in October, 1973. I don't think that there was any copper production at the Llanada min...e---I can find no references to any production numbers. This mine is best known for its turquoise and nissonite (the Llanada mine is the type locality) specimens---still, the mine is no doubt virtually unknown except for California collectors and specialists and perhaps micromount species collectors. Both pieces show turquoise with dark riebeckite and an unknown blue mineral that may be chrysocolla or nissonite---it is not turquoise. The turquoise has that typical porcelaneous look while some of the unknown blue looks somewhat radiating to fibrous under magnification. And riebeckite is believed to be the dark mineral owing to the size of some of the rough crystals on the larger piece. Mindat.org does not list riebeckite but rather glaucophane but the classic Handbook of Mineralogy mentions the association as riebeckite. I'm pleased to offer this very rare locality specimen of Galena with Pyrite from the Oversight mine, Nespelem, Okanogan County, Washington. The specimen measures 2.59 x 1.35 x .61 inches or 6.59 x 3.44 x 1.54cm and is sawn on two sides. This comes with an informal label giving the location and the year of collection. The Oversight mine was a lead, gold and silver mine that produced apparently very little. A friend of mine collected this a few years ago and he sent notes with the specimen that r...ead:"I'm not super well versed on the history, but I heard that the Nespelem district was started with the discovery of rich float ore which included a nearly surfboard sized piece of electrum. The amount of rich sulfides around there is crazy, but little production has come from the district since it is on an Indian reservation. This particular mine was above the rest of them, which explains the name." This piece is mostly galena with some lenses of pyrite. During the past few years, a Canadian mining company has been drilling the area hoping to find reserves at historically mined properties near Republic, Washington. To this date, I don't believe that any action has been taken on area claims. Please check my feedback and my other eBay items. All specimens are carefully wrapped, come with complete and accurate labels and are quickly shipped. I'm pleased to offer this rare locality specimen of Gold ore from the Cannon mine, Wenatchee, Chelan County, Washington. The specimen measures 2.47 x 1.88 x 1.42 inches or 6.28 x 4.76 x 3.60cm and is from the stock of my late friend Bart Cannon (1950-2019) of Seattle, Washington. Bart was an expert on seemingly all things Washington and was a field collector extraordinaire. He authored the classic Minerals of Washington and was apparently sitting on an updated version of this classic at the tim...e of his untimely and unexpected passing. He is missed. The Cannon mine closed in 1994 due to declining reserves and the refusal to grant additional exploratory drilling programs that would extend beneath the city of Wenatchee. It produced 1.25 million ounces of gold and 2 million ounces of silver during its short life. It was the second largest underground gold mine in the US. The gold mineralization was largely confined to very fine-grained free gold and electrum. The mineralization occurred mostly in rhyodacite just as is presented with this piece. Gold grades averaged about .15 ounces of gold per ton in early efforts but later grades to over .20 ounces of gold were discovered and delineated. As mining ceased rather recently, there is some excellent information about the mine and its history and geology. A simple Google search for "Cannon mine Wenatchee" will produce excellent results. Please check my feedback and my other eBay items. All specimens are carefully wrapped, come with complete and accurate labels and are quickly shipped.
