This is a very rare estate find...I have done some investigating on this guitar, as I have never heard of it before. made by Elias Howe Co. Boston. 1895. Truly amazing sound on this instrument...even without changing the strings. It is in quite good condition for the age...no visible big cracking, and I cant find any visible repairs. It has some light scratch marks and age marks, as shown in the pictures. the neck is attached to the body by a small metal hinge a...nd a wood dowel. two capstan bolts allow you to set the neck to whatever you want. a Adirondack spruce top, bridge is made of fruitwood dyed black. The guitar comes with what looks like possibly the original hard back case, with blue felt lining. If you havent heard of this guitar before, be sure to go online and research its history. The guitar is 38" long, 12 1/2" wide on the widest box part, and 2" on the top narrow part of the neck. inside is the original sticker: HOWE-ORME #2752...PAT NOV 14 1893 AND APR 23 1895.
