EXQUISITE PANEL ANTIQUE FRENCH SILK BROCADE ROSES & RIBBONS 19th century
This is the most exquisite panel of antique French silk brocade from the mid to late 1800s. The condition is simply amazing and it would be wonderful for any period projects. For some reason my camera made the closer shots lighter in colour so the first photograph above is closer to the shade of old warm gold. A fabulous textured brocade weave with r...ose bouquets and blooms and flower sprigs with borders of pink serpentine ribbons and stripes. The background is old gold and the stripes soft rose pink. The flowers are shades of pinks, greens and cream. The panel measures: Length 1 metre 54cms Width 1 metre 22cms There is no wear or deterioration to the fibres. A classical and very very beautiful period silk. Genuine period textile confections from simply-chateau. All the items in my listings, unless described otherwise, are either vintage or antique.
