Antique Chinese Embroidered Silk Civil Rank Badge Silver Gilt Pheasant Tapestry 12' x 12". This tapestry sits inside a wooden handled glass serving tray with felt backing. The craftsmanship on this is tapestry is simply amazing. Very intricate figures with the centerpiece being a Silver Pheasant done in silver gilt thread. The crane was the 5th rank in the ranking system for civil rank badges. This badge would have been worn by the wife on her back just the opposite of her husbands bad...ge. That is why the the bird is facing right .A rare find for any Chinese rank badge especially in this amazing condition. .
