There are two small flowers to the le...ft side of the verse, a star to the right side then the last word of the verse has an undulating border on either side. The lower section of the linen is stitched with the words God save The King which have a crown to the left side. There is a central-ish bird below the words with a dog and floral motif to the left and a bird to the right, with Ann's details by their side - Ann Howard Aged ten years. Ripon. April 30 1802. There is a flower basket beneath the central-ish bird with a heart and small floral motif on either side. A sheep stands beneath the flower basket flanked by a flower, crested long-tailed bird and star, then the whole piece is surrounded by a narrow zigzag border.The linen has overall discolouration consistent with its age and the colours of the thread are good. The last photo is of the reverse of the sampler and indicates how the colours would have looked when Mary first stitched it.Measures 10 1/2" x 13"
